A Company Dancers: Any level ages 6+. 1-3 days of dance per week and 3 competitions April-May.
B & C Companies: Ages 10+. Experienced dancers able to commit to 2-4 days of dance per week and 4-6+ weekends for performances/competitions from Jan.-May.
All company dancers perform in multiple shows on Spring Recital weekend.
Our season begins at Company Intensive, August 8-18 and ends with our Spring Recital in late May/early June 2012.
We encourage dancers who have specific placement goals in mind to work one-on-one with one of our instructors and to sign up for summer camps. Remember that dancers who improve and excel put in extra time in class, summer workshops and individual practice.
OUR PLACEMENT PROCESS
We are blessed to have approximately 100 dancers on eleven different teams this season. Each team has between 5 and 12 dancers. The smaller individual teams are often combined for hip hop, kickline, tap and sometimes lyrical routines.
Placement is based on many factors. The most important factor for us is finding the group that will make each dancer the most successful for this particular season. It is important to us that our students do not compete against each other within the studio, but rather to be encouraged by each other. We fully understand that all dancers have different strengths. We have placed them so that their strengths will truly shine. We ask for your cooperation in helping your dancer understand the care and commitment that we put into the proper placement for each dancer at our studio. We do not consider any team better than another. We are completely committed to each team and dancer and making them the best they can possibly be.
We have two types of company at the DanceXchange. This is not related to technical or performance level. Instead, this is related to the time commitment required from the dancers. Although dancers committing more time to their dance education will likely progress at a faster rate.
